Pizza Nights at Jacob Cottage

Slow evenings, outdoor living and the perfect Gower escape

Some of the best moments at Jacob Cottage happen after a day at the beach.

When the sun begins to dip behind the trees and the pace of the day slows, guests often gather outside in the garden, light the pizza oven and settle in for long, relaxed evenings outdoors.

At the heart of our outdoor kitchen is the Gozney Roccbox - a brilliant gas-fired pizza oven that cooks restaurant-quality pizzas in minutes.

And honestly, there’s something incredibly satisfying about making pizza surrounded by nature, with a glass of wine in hand and sea air still lingering after a day on Gower.

Outdoor Living at Jacob Cottage

We designed the garden at Jacob Cottage to feel like an extension of the cabin itself - somewhere to cook, gather, unwind and enjoy slow living outdoors.

Tucked among the trees, the outdoor space includes:

  • A fully equipped outdoor kitchen

  • Heated seating area

  • Dining space for relaxed evenings outside

  • The Gozney Roccbox pizza oven

  • Soft lighting and sheltered corners to enjoy year-round

Even on cooler evenings, the heated seating area makes outdoor dining feel cosy and inviting. It’s the kind of place where dinner quietly turns into an entire evening.

Why We Love the Gozney Roccbox

The Gozney Roccbox is compact, easy to use and reaches incredible temperatures quickly, creating beautifully crisp pizzas with that authentic wood-fired style finish.

Guests often pick up fresh local ingredients from nearby Shepherds (which stocks loads of great porvisions) and our fave deli Olives & Oils before returning to the cabin for pizza night.

Some favourites include:

  • Mozzarella and fresh basil

  • Chorizo and hot honey

  • Wild garlic pesto in spring

  • Welsh cheeses and caramelised onion

  • Fresh tomato and burrata

Evenings Under the Trees

There’s something special about outdoor living on Gower.

After long beach walks, surf sessions or lazy afternoons at Three Cliffs Bay, coming back to Jacob Cottage and spending the evening outside feels wonderfully grounding.

The sound of the trees moving in the wind, warm pizza fresh from the oven and the glow of the garden lights - it’s a simple kind of luxury that guests remember long after they leave.

A Different Pace of Life

One of the things people love most about staying at Jacob Cottage is how naturally life slows down here.

Mornings begin with coffee in the garden.
Days are spent exploring beaches and coast paths.
And evenings are all about good food, fresh air and spending time together outdoors.

Pizza nights at the cottage have become a favourite part of the experience - and one of the simplest pleasures of staying on Gower.
